The Piano Technicians Guild recommends keeping your piano in tune. A piano is specifically designed to be tuned to the international pitch standard of A-440 cycles per second.
Your piano will sound its best and give you and your family the most pleasure when it is tuned regularly and kept in proper playing condition. At Cooper Music, we recommend two tunings per year.
Your piano contains materials such as wood and felt and is subject to change with climatic conditions. Extreme swings from hot to cold or dry to wet will cause pianos materials to swell and contract affecting tone, pitch and action response. You can reduce the severity of these effects by placing your piano near a wall away from windows or doors that are opened frequently.
Avoid heating and air conditioning vents, fireplaces and areas which receive direct sunlight. Your piano will perform best under consistent conditions neither too wet nor dry, optimally at a temperature of 68 degrees F and 42 percent relative humidity.
At Cooper Piano we perform services such as voicing, regulation, refinishing, restoration, refurbishing and piano player installs and repair.
Just fill out the form to the right and we will be happy to arrange for a piano technician to work on your piano.
